HEART FAILURE

The number of new heart failure cases exceeds those of AIDS, breast cancer, or Alzheimer’s disease. Heart failure is the most frequent cause of hospitalization in patients over 65 years of age. Conditions can damage the heart or make it work too hard, leading to heart failure are: Coronary artery disease, A previous heart attack, High blood pressure, Heart valve disease or heart valve damage, Abnormal fast heart rhythms, Sleep disorders, such as sleep apnea, Severe lung disease, Diabetes, Anemia, thyroid disease. Lifestyle behaviors can cause heart disease: Smoking, overweight, Not exercising, Heavy drinking or abusing alcohol, Eating foods high in fat and cholesterol.
